About Krista

My name is Krista VanMoorlehem. I am a Certified Sommelier (Court of Master Sommelier 2015), but far from a wine snob. I have a straightforward approach and don't believe in making things more complicated than necessary. 

I've been in the restaurant industry for 25 years. As a General Manager, I was frustrated by my wine sales. I also knew that my staff wasn't getting the training they needed to effectively sell wine. 

This is what began my journey into Wine Education. I wanted my staff to feel comfortable and knowledgeable discussing wine. If not, they become order takers and miss opportunities to improve a guest's experience.

As a Beverage Director for Bartmann Restaurants, I was able to craft wine lists that reflected the individual personalities of each concept, while capitalizing on our purchasing power. In working with the General Managers of each store, I was able to save them time and money, while arming their staff with an appropriate list and the confidence to sell it.
